Why do they say there will be a food crisis?
In 2021, Japan's food self-sufficiency rate will be at an all-time low! The average age of farmers is getting older, and the number of people producing crops is drastically decreasing.
And even if young people try to start farming, it is a very tough industry, where they don't make much money despite the costs involved.
Why don't we just rely on imports from overseas for food? Some people think, "Why don't we just rely on imports of food from overseas?
And with the weak yen and soaring oil prices, food prices are sure to become more expensive as well, for now.
What happens when there is a food shortage?
When there is a food crisis, the first thing to go up is the price of imported food. For example, bread, pasta, and sweets made from wheat, and it is said that a bowl of ramen, which everyone loves, will cost 2,000 yen.
Prices are already going up due to inflation, right? Toilet paper and oil are slowly going up in price too. Those who can afford it are fine because they can buy food even if the prices go up, but the problem is those who cannot afford it.
Young people who can't afford it, like those who commit oleore scams, etc., lead to a deterioration of public safety when times get tough.
...So what can we do to prepare for a food crisis?
I am sure that all of you who have visited this Feng Shui Press are something of a match, so I will introduce you to as many food crisis measures as I know of!
We can't afford to be anxious, so let's squash the anxiety. The basics are the same as preparing for a disaster.
Rotate the food you eat on a daily basis as you buy more food. We do not recommend eating foods that you are not used to or that do not taste good, even if they are for stockpiling, because it will be mentally hard on you. Let's enjoy stockpiling food with a focus on foods that have a long expiration date.

Recommendations for food stockpiling!
The basic idea is to stockpile the food you are accustomed to eating while buying more. We recommend that you consume the food closest to its expiration date first.
Store in a shady, cool, under-floor or under-stair storage area with a small temperature difference to prevent deterioration.
Vacuum pack machineIf you are not confident about preserving your food, try freeze-drying or storing dry foods in small portions in an airtight container. If you are not confident about preserving food, freeze-dried or dried food is the best way to stockpile!
Don't forget to stockpile standing medicines and supplements.
Let's buy the necessary medications, supplements, sanitary products, etc. a little at a time. Each person needs different things, so how much do you need? If we can't get them, are there any alternatives? If not, is there any alternative?
